During Homecoming Weekend, a free and family-friendly event called the Hy-Vee Fan Zone took place at the University of Northern Iowa campus in the West Parking Lot of the UNI Dome. Hy-Vee Fan Zone prioritizes pregame energy and community spirit, while also fueling Panther Fans through the food provided by Hy-Vee.
For several years, Hy-Vee has supported the UNI Panthers Football Team by catering to Panther fans with sandwiches and snacks, providing them with the energy boost they need for game day. Along with food, the event also offered lawn games, giveaways and music with a live DJ to pump up the energy.
Panthers of all ages enjoyed the event, taking pride in their community and university.
“The event really made me realize how much UNI means to people,” one attendee stated. “Parents, staff and students alike can bond over their pride for their town and college.”
When touring the Hy-Vee Fan Zone, several attendees gushed about the atmosphere and overall vibe of the event. One staff member of the event claimed,
“It’s really cool how Panther Football can bring a community like this together, no matter where they may be from.”
It can be hard to go to the smaller events when attempting to participate in Homecoming Week, but the atmosphere and the sense of community it fosters make it a highlight for many.
