UNI draw Coyotes in opener, 0-0 in overtime

The UNI women’s soccer team kicked off their season at home in Waterloo at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex on August 19th against the South Dakota Coyotes. After 13 shot attempts, senior goal keeper Jami Reichenberger stood strong and did not fold. Seven attempts were made on the goal but not one made it to the net. Even double overtime could not settle this match-up. The Panthers attempted 11 shots and on only four were on the goal as they drew the game 0-0 with the Coyotes. The Panthers look ahead to play Wyoming on the road on August 24th.

After last season road struggles the Panthers are looking to improve game by game. The Panthers ended last season 14-5-1, as runners-up of for the MVC women’s soccer tournament title. The 14 wins set a school record for the most wins by a women’s soccer in UNI history.
