The first Death Café will be hosted at Sidecar Coffee on College Hill Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. Melinda Heinz hopes to
create a space of open and respectful conversation about death.
Melinda Heinz, an associate professor of family, aging and couseling, is
bringing the first Death Café events to Northeast Iowa. Originating with
Swiss sociologist Bernard Crettaz, the events have become popular in the
United Kingdom and are spreading around the world.
