The Panther volleyball team will get to start their season off with a long road trip deep in the heart of Texas for a three-game series over the weekend. Ranked 33rd nationally, the Panthers will venture down to Austin, Texas to play the fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns on Friday night in the first matchup between the two in school history.

It will be a family affair against the Longhorns as UNI coach and daughter duo, Bobbi and Baylee Petersen will face off against Sydney Petersen, their daughter and sister respectively.

Following the matchup against the Longhorns, the Panthers will travel south to San Marcos, Texas. The purple and gold will start out with a matchup against Liberty (Virginia) on Saturday. Following their matchup with Liberty, the Panther women will be taking on the home team Texas State Bobcats on Saturday night to round out the three-game slate.

The Panthers return five out of six starters from last season. The purple and gold were also unanimously voted the number one team in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll. Of the fifteen times the Panther women have been voted the number one preseason team, they have gone on to win the conference championship eleven times and secured second place four times.
