In Halloween spirit, McCollum Science Hall hosted a “Halloween House” and UNI’s Botanical Center held themed activities on Oct. 28, open to the public. The “Halloween House” was put on by the UNI Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) with help from physics, science, education and earth environmental science students.

Emma Koehler is the Managing Editor at the Northern Iowan. Emma is currently a senior and is a transfer student from Ellsworth Community College, where she graduated with a Precision Agriculture degree. At UNI, she is majoring in digital media: journalism. She is also involved with the Digital Collective on campus. Fun fact: she has a corgi!

Ryn is a returning student from Atalissa, Iowa. She is transferring in as a junior after deciding to go back to school, to get her bachelor’s degree. After working in healthcare for several years she decided to explore different career paths and decided that going into some type of digital communication career was the right fit for her. She decided to pursue a degree here at UNI, after looking online and seeing their Interactive Digital Studies program. Her goal after college is to get a job where she can use the skills she has learned here as well as incorporates her love of the outdoors, and travel.
