The Panthers continued their spring volleyball season this past weekend in Kansas City, Mo. at the UMKC spring tournament. They split with both Arkansas and Kansas City, defeated Kansas and fell to Kansas State in the four tournament games.

The UNI men's basketball team played in the first and second rounds of the National Invitation Tournament, or NIT, this past week. After defeating Saint Louis in the first round, the Panthers fell on the road in Provo, Utah, to Brigham Young, ending their 2021-22 season. They will now look ahead to next season with several key players returning, including Nate Heise and Noah Carter.

The UNI wrestling team competed in the Big 12 championships this past Saturday and Sunday. Parker Keckeisen secured his second career Big 12 title over the weekend and several individual Panthers earned at-large bids at the NCAA Championships next week in Detroit, Mich.

The UNI women's basketball team finished the 2021-22 season in third place in the Missouri Valley Conference and will now look ahead to the conference tournament. or "Hoops in the Heartland," which will take place at the Taxslayer Center in Moline, Ill. The Panthers will play on Friday in the first round against Valparaiso, with tip-off scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

A packed house at the McLeod Center on Saturday night pitted UNI against Drake for an in-state rivalry match-up. The Panthers and Bulldogs fought hard throughout the contest, which could not be decided in regulation. The UNI women's soccer team ended their season to in-state rivals Drake, falling by a score of 2-0 on Oct. 28. They then turned right around and faced off against Drake again on Oct. 31 in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, losing in heartbreaking fashion in overtime by the score of 3-2. The Panthers end their season with a 6-10-1 record overall and 3-41 in MVC play.
