What makes the best sex ever? YouTube sex educater, Laci Green, gave the University of Northern Iowa students the “low-down” on the down- low.

Maucker Union Ballroom greeted Green’s presentation with full house of students and faculty members.

The event was made possible by UNI Students Together for the Advancement of Reproductive Rights (UNI STARR), UNI Proud, Students Against a Violent Environment (SAVE) and UNI Feminist Action League (UNI FAL).

Green hosts the YouTube series “Sex+”, the biggest sex education series on the internet today.  Reaching five million people each month in over 100 countries, “Sex+” was created to inform the public on topics from human anatomy to sexuality issues.  

Green used a PowerPoint presentation to help illustrate her message. 

“I decided to go learn valuable information despite it not being my cup of tea,” said Cameron Fagen, junior accounting major.

To begin the night, Green started her talk by explaining the various parts of male and female genitalia, explaining functions and using photos to help illustrate her descriptiong.

She also dispelled misconceptions of how certain parts function.

 Green then shifted the message to Sexually Transmitted Illnesses (STI). Green described how they are transmitted, detected, what symptoms are and possible cures. 

Places to get tested and information on how often to get tested were also included.

The third part of the talk informed people about contraception and methods of protection.  Green showed off various forms of contraception and how to use them correctly with visual aids. 

A member of the crowd was even selected to demonstrate how to properly put a condom on a male with the use of a sex toy.

After safe sex trivia Green asked the crowd questions based on various things she had spoken about which led to the final segment about consent.

Green made her  message clear and concise: consent can only be given sober and if the person actually wants to give it.  

Green ended her discussion with emphasis that communication is key and it is the most important step to having the best sex ever.
