The Panthers remain perfect in Missouri Valley Conference play as they defeated Wichita State 3-1 and Missouri State 3-2 on the road in back-to-back nights.

UNI opened the weekend against the Shockers in Wichita, Kan., taking the first set 25-21 after surrendering the lead just once during the set. 

The following set went back and forth as there were nine times when the score was tied and three lead changes. A kill from Eryca Hingtgen brought the Panthers to within a point at 19-18 before the Shockers took six out of the final seven points and won the set 25-19.

UNI bounced back in the third set, scoring six of the final seven points themselves while winning the set 25-19.

After a few WSU attacking errors, UNI took the lead 14-13 and never looked back, taking the set and match 25-13. The Panthers went without an attacking error as Leigh Pudwill had three of her team-high 15 kills in the third set.

The Panthers looked for their fifth straight conference win as they traveled to Springfield, Mo. to take on the Bears of Missouri State Saturday night.

UNI never led in the first set as they committed 10 errors in the set before recovering in the second set to even the match at 1-1.

Hingtgen had six of her career-high 20 kills in the third set, helping the Panthers to a 25-16 win.

The Bears took the fourth set 25-13, sending UNI into their third five-set battle of the season.

MSU committed two straight errors in the fifth set, allowing the Panthers to take a 9-7 lead. UNI scored four straight points to open the gap, eventually taking the set and match 15-11.

The Panthers will open a two-game homestand on Friday as they take on Evansville at 7 p.m.
