Danielle Young, sophomore elementary and middle level education major. Here Danielle spoke about her difficulties with forming and maintaining relationships after having been assaulted:

"It's really hard to open up your heart and trust somebody with your body, your mind and your heart. It's really something you've had to work through little by little ... Sometimes in relationships, [the other person] will trigger something in you. And for me, I was seeing this guy who triggered something in me and made me scared of him for a bit I opened up and told him what was going on ... But usually I have to push everything out of my mind and just be alone for a bit β€” maybe cry or take a nap β€” and then I usually feel better after a day or two and I can, little by little, start taking things in."
